Live.com, a serious rival for Google?

Although this is not my field, as a consumer, I question if Live.com can really be a serious problem to Google. My immediate answer to this is no. If MSN remains so slow to innovations coming from startups, my answer will also remain no. A week ago, we heard that Google bought innovations of an Israeli student. This was great! Page and Brin know where the danger may come from. However, again a week ago, we heard another acquisition, this time by MSN, of a Paris based startup focusing on mobile web search… Good but this doesn’t make sense if you can’t do the basic part of your job!

Anyway, Yahoo is also doing good. But I don’t think they can catch Google. Just look at the Yahoo Labs; they have good products to come.

And Google.. Although they are far ahead Live.com, they should keep pursuing, especially the inovations made in the user interface. I love the new scrollbar hack (as you scroll down, new pages load).
